Quilt of Valor

Mary Rose from Michigan pieced this beautiful Quilt of Valor that will be donated to a veteran.  It's a combination of a star block and a stars-stripes block and is 64 x 80.

The white setting triangles have parallel lines:

I put a ribbon line in the red stripes.  The blue star field has a simple meander as the navy thread doesn't show on the dark fabric:

There is line dancing in the white background and navy triangles of the star blocks,
with a red 8-pointed star in the middle:

The backing is a red with gold stars:

Shanna's T's

These are Shanna's t-shirts from Ball State.  It's 64 x 87.

The neutral grey sashing makes them stand out.   She didn't want them all lined up evenly, so they are off-set according to size.  There were a lot of tank tops, to there are several without corners.

The quilting is a simple loopy meander:

Shanna picked out the black backing:

Pat's Carousel Horses

Pat embroidered these cute carousel horses and put them together in a quilt.  It took her 10 years to get them all done.  It's 84 x 108

The quilting design was pre-printed on the horse blocks.

There are daisies on each horse, so we decided on daisies to fill in the purple sashings and borders.

The backing is a pretty mint green, although the color does not show well here.
