QUILT OF VALOR

This was pieced by multiple members of my Quilt of Valor group.  A foundation paper was used for the string piecing, then removed after sewing.   It's 60 x 70.

I used a white thread for feather in the white sections.  They radiate out from the narrow corners to the wider ends:

I used matching thread to quilt wiggly lines in the red and blue diamonds.  

Fancy stitching wouldn't show, so I kept it simple.

The backing is a red patriotic fabric with stars:

Pat's Quilt

Pat pieced this and had me quilt it for her.  She wanted an edge-to-edge pattern in a thread that matches the lighter green.  It's 104x114.

I used a sunflower pattern for the quilting:

Paula'a Christmas Quilt

Paula's sister did the embroidery blocks, and Paula put them all together.  They are just sooo cute.  There are all of the reindeer, plus Santa.   It's 54 x 74.  

I used a white thread in the blocks and sashings, and borders.

WINDOW TREATMENTS

I finally got around to making valances for the 2 guest rooms and my studio.  I've been working on these crumb blocks for years, and finally put them to use.  Each block is 4" square.  All 3 valances are 16" deep, and the width varies to fit the windows.  I made them during our quilt show week, which is crazy, so I forgot to add width the studio one to take it back to the wall, but oh well - it's just for me.

Sunshine Panel

My neighbor saw this panel and wanted a small wall hanging made with it.  Another friend saw the panel at the same time and wanted a twin quilt from it.  See it here. 

She wanted a little pop of turquoise so I used that on either side of the 9-patch blocks, and in their centers.  

I pulled in the green and yellow for the 9-patches:

I found the bumble bee fabric that matches the panel and used it for a border (above)

 and quilted it using a swirly pantograph with grey thread(below)

I had a black and white mesh look for the backing:

BOILER UP

Danielle's daughter went to Purdue and sent me these shirts for a quilt.  She even found some Purdue fabric to use on the front and back.  I'ts 50 x 60.  I used a medium grey thread to quilt a pantograph.

FIRE ISLAND FIESTA

This pattern is by Linda Hahn - a New York Beauty pattern.  She has a great way of paper piecing this so it goes together easily.  It's 58 x 58.  I used Quilter's Dream Puff batting so it's super fluffy.  I did lots of ruler work for the quilting.

This is made up of 2 blocks.  One is the New York Beauty, 

and the other is a modified half-square triangle.

The New York Beauty locks are put together is various ways to create the pattern.

Two of the HST blocks are always put in this manner.

I found the perfect fabric for the backing - all of the colors from the front:

GOOD FORTUNE

This is a Bonnie Hunter mystery from 2018-19.  She called for a white/cream background, but I had lots of grey so I used that.  Bought a few more must to have variety.  I bought the gold, but all the rest was from my stash.  This is 74 x 74.  I took 2nd place in our Feb 2020 quilt show

There are 2 blocks, one with the gold, and the other a green flower.

METRO RINGS

I love this pattern - I have made it twice.  This one is 57 x 76. The other one I made for my Mom - see it   here.   I had a jelly roll that was waiting for just the right project, and this one was it.  The black and white connectors really add pop, and the grey background is a great neutral to make the colors stand out.  I used a light grey thread throughout - it really blends with every color.
