QOV

Here is another Quilt of Valor that is from the national organization.  It's 60 x 70.

The blocks are all the same pattern, but different color arrangements.  Some have all the same fabric:

I quilted an pointed star in the center of each, with connecting curves in the star points and background sections

Others have the star points as a different fabric from the center:

I quilted ribbon candy in the white sashings:

and wiggly lines in every other red line of the plaid border:

The backing is a gold print:

Charity

My guild has a group that makes a lot of charity quilts and had a bunch that needed quilting.
This is 62 x 62.

The block is simple piecing, and allows for lots of scrappy fabrics:

I used a pink thread and did a simple meander with loops:

The backing is a pink fabric that blends with the top:

QUILT OF VALOR

I love this Quilt of Valor.  So simple, but dramatic.   It's 60 x 70, and deserved custom quilting rather than an edge to edge pattern.

I used a red/white/blue variegated thread and quilted wiggly lines in the red and white stripes:

I did a simple meander in the blue fields, and outline each star to make it pop.

Then I added a star in the middle of each star:

The backing is a neutral patriotic print:

Betty's one-block wonder

This is Betty's one-block wonder.  I love this pattern.  6 layers of the exact same repeat are layered then cut into hexagons to create pinwheel-type blocks:  This is 53 x 64.  I used a black thread throughout, and used a circle template centered at each intersection.  The border fabric shows the original fabric that was used.

The backing is a solid that really shows off the quilting:

QUILT OF VALOR

Yet another Quilt of Valor.  The Florida groups are fairly prolific - I've been getting a lot of these.  This is 57 x 76 and is a variation of the 10-minute block pattern.

this is the block set on point:

pre-printed fabric was used for the borders:

I quilted a pantograph that has flags with one star in the corner:

The backing is white with little blue triangles:

QUILT OF VALOR

This is another quilt of valor from the national organization.  It's 61 x 76.  It's rail fence blocks with a cream triangle in one corner to create the secondary pattern.  Piano key border was added to the bottom.  I used a light tan thread throughout.

I did an all over quilting pattern with an angled meander and stars.

The backing is pieced from 2 different fabrics:

Gloria's table runner

Gloria sent me an embroidered table runner and told me to have fun.  Boy - did I ever  . . .

It's 13 x 43

Here is the before:

and here's the after:

I used matching thread and outlined the embroidery:

Then I filled in around the outside to flatten it out.

That left the whole middle to have fun with:

I found a backing that had the right orange color, and already had the orange I used for the binding.
