Mom was cleaning out her fabric bin and these 2 panels were in it. So I made her 2 pillows for her summer cottage in Canada, where she has lots of loon decorations. The back is the same as the binding - a soft tan that matches the first border in the panel. The 16" pillow forms are super puffy, so I had to put some stuffing in the corners to keep them from being so floppy.
HOME OF AN AWARD WINNING QUILTER - This is a journal of many of the quilts I've made - lots of t-shirt quilts and memory quilts. If you want to see a specific type of quilt, there is a list of "labels" down the right side that will take you to what you want to see.
I'd love to hear your comments on my projects. Feel free to post a note here (click on the word "comment" at the end of the post) , or you can contact me directly. See info on the above tab.

Quilt of Valor
This is another great Quilt of Valor pieced by Becky. This one would be for someone in the Air Force as there is a fabric with lots of old planes. The airplane blocks alternate with a star block, with 3-part borders between them. The size is 68 x 80.
I quilted a simple meander is all the airplane sections
Star block
There are 4 8-pointed stars quilted into each star block

The border sections all have ribbon candy quilted on them:
The backing is a dark navy, making giving it a whole-cloth quilt look:
the fabric is actually much darker than this shows

Elephants for Bronson
My nephew and his wife are expecting Bronson in mid to late October. Their nursery theme is "Elephants and Sunshine", so the colors are grey and yellow. I bought a bunch of different grays and yellows and made a variety of pinwheels. It's 48 x 52.
I added applique elephants marching along each end, with trunks and tails connected. They even have floppy ears!
I created a quilting design of elephants and peanuts:

peanut ( a little blurry . . .)
The binding is a grey - yellow graphic print, and the border is grey with white polka dots. Found out afterwards that Bronson's sheets are the same pattern. A perfect match :)
The back is a soft fluffy flannel with elephants, with some of the border fabric down the middle:

I also made Bronson some burp cloths from leftover pieces. I love the yellow and gray dots. That was a lucky find. There are two of each design:
