Golf Shirts

My husband "volunteered" me to embroider 8 golf shirts for a golf outing at work.  Hopefully I'll at least get a dozen golf balls for my efforts!  They work with DC Cook - a nuclear power plant - hence the design.

Best Man Patch

This is the patch that my nephew wanted for his Best Man to wear all weekend.  This was a first for me - had to go online to my Yahoo groups to find out how to do it.  Arman loved it - he wore it on his vests under the tux jacket during the ceremony!

"Day and Night" quilt

This is Eleanor Burn's "Day and Night" quilt pattern. It is a wedding gift for my nephew and his bride.  I'm really pleased with the way it turned out.  This is the first free motion quilting I've done other than a large meander.  Also attached a picture of the label on the back. I blocked out their last name for their protection.  It sure looks great in their room.

A blue ribbon winner . . .

I entered my Double Bubble quilt in the March 2010 quilt show sponsored by the String-A-Long quilt show and earned a blue ribbon in the Mystery Division.  Yea me!!! Click on the link to see the quilt.

Aunt Barb's pink ribbon fleece

My Aunt is fighting breast cancer for the second time.  I made this for her.  the flip side is plain pink, but I put both layers on my long arm and quilted a pantograph with hearts.  March 2010

Kim S t-shirts and leotards

Kim was a gymnast at a school that has a fabulous gymnastics programs.  Lots of state championships, and great memories.  Two of her leotards are in the middle, and some of the sashings are made from the waistband of a pair of pants, or little bags they had made for their gear.  April 2010

Megan's t-shirts

Megan is a great volleyball player, and these are most of her shirts.  Purple sashings, and the back is pink with lots of multi-colored flowers.  March 2010

Victor's t-shirts

Victor was in the Univ of Ill marching band.  The sashings are blue multi-colored, and the back is orange U of I fabric.  I used a pantograph that has trumpets and saxophones.  He played the trumpet, and his wife played the sax.  I have her t-shirts too - for a second quilt - someday!!

Jan 1 mystery quilting

This was Cindy Roth's 1-1-10 mystery quilting class.  The top is made ahead of time, then on New Year's Day there are periodic internet postings on how to long arm quilt each seciton.  A good way to practice and learn new things.

Happy Halloween

Made from flag nylon for a friend who is absolutely Halloween crazy.  They decorate their  house for Halloween like most people do for Christmas.  Oct 2009

ties memory quilt

I made this for a friend after her husband passed away.  It's from all of his ties, plus his picture in the middle.  The border is from the narrower part of the ties.  The backing is navy with a maroon paisley print - looks like a pattern that would be used on ties.  This is one of the first things I quilted on my new Gammill machine.  50" square - Feb 2010

Gertie Gammill

I finally got a long-arm machine.  What a fabulous new "toy".  I named her Gertie!!  Lots of learning to do here. 

Musical t-shirt quilt

Tom's brother passed away.  These are t-shirts from all the radio stations where he was a DJ.  It was a birthday gift for his Mom.  What a wonderful thing for her to have as a memory of her son.  2009

MIssing Pieces

This one was fun.  Used up lots of scraps.  I had made a small one for fun and had it displayed at a craft show.  This lady ordered a double bed size of the same version.  the black spots are the "missing Pieces"  July-Aug 2009
